The daily newspaper reports that this is because Portugal has “severe budgetary problems”. The other countries are US, Japan, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Greece and Ireland. Altogether these countries represent 40% of world’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

«Managers responsible for swaps scandal refuse to resign», writes i, as  the government was going to force six companies with allegedly having speculative swap contracts to step down, but the daily newspaper reports that the companies refused the “invitation” and that the government has no power to oblige them to resign without a “just cause.”
